These extinct whales are in the final stages of loosing their hind limbs as they transition from land based to ocean going mammals. Here is the largest concentration of intact whale fossils in the world! Just as incredible as the fossil-rich land is the bizarre and beautiful terrain with its alien rock formations scattered over the endless desert sand.
